From the Movies
It's definitely not the sign of an experienced Podracer pilot when a vehicle won't even get off the starting grid. That was the fate that befell the comic-faced Ben Quadinaros at the Boonta Eve Classic race on Tatooine. To add insult to injury, when Quadinaros' engines finally did start, his energy binders uncoupled, sending his quadra-Pod engines soaring in all different directions
From the Expanded Universe
Quadinaros piloted a hastily put together Balta-Trabaat BT310. The quadra-Pod design can reach amazing speeds of up to 940 kilometers per hour, but its acceleration is slow. The four-engine design trades stability for speed. Its red-painted open-canopied Pod is 2.72 meters long, and the four engines are each 4.5 meters long.
Behind the Scenes
It's likely Quadinaros' "quadra-Pod" racing engines factored in the naming of Ben Quadinaros. His Podracer, like the rest in the race sequence, was realized as a detailed concept model and then rendered as a computer-generated vehicle.
