A repulsorlift is a type of antigravity engine that allows vehicles and vessels to push against gravity fields, providing flight. Efficient and inexpensive, repulsorlifts provide propulsion to a wide variety of craft -- from the tiny STAPs used by Trade Federation battle droids, to the immense sail barge employed by Jabba the Hutt. Certain models of droids use repulsorlifts instead of wheels or legs for locomotion. Repulsorlifts are so efficient that they are rarely ever shut off -- even when powered down, a landspeeder continues to hover off the ground.
