Like all Jedi of his era, Obi-Wan Kenobi was raised in the Jedi Temple from a very young age. Kenobi first underwent training with Yoda as a youngling, before being assigned to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in his teens. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon forged a very strong bond, though Kenobi was a more faithful follower of the Jedi Code than his Master, who preferred to follow the will of the living Force and his conscience.
-
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were dispatched to peacefully settle a growing trade dispute. The normally timid Neimoidians of the Trade Federation were aggressively blocking all trade to Naboo. Obi-Wan sensed a dark presence at work. What none of the Jedi knew is that the Trade Federation was being manipulated by a Sith Lord. At Darth Sidious' orders, battle droids attacked the Jedi, but Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon skillfully cut through their attackers.
-
Making their way into secret hangar bays, they discovered that the Trade Federation intended to invade Naboo! Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon stowed aboard invasion craft and arrived on the planet's surface. They had to warn the Naboo of the impending siege. Qui-Gon found help from Jar Jar Binks, a native Gungan living in the swamps. Binks led the Jedi to an underwater city, but Obi-Wan did not think Jar Jar's help would amount to much.
-
Piloting a submarine through the planet's caves brought the Jedi and Jar Jar to the capital city, Theed. Battle droids were marching Queen Amidala to a prison camp. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan cut down the battle droid guards and freed the Queen, shuffling her off to her royal starship so that they could leave Naboo and reach the Republic capital, Coruscant.
-
The ship was damaged while escaping, and needed to set down on the desert world of Tatooine for repairs. While there, Qui-Gon met an amazingly talented slave boy named Anakin Skywalker who showed great Force potential. Qui-Gon freed the boy from slavery and intended to take Anakin to the Jedi Council for training. Obi-Wan met Anakin during the hurried retreat from Tatooine.
-
The Jedi Council was wary of the boy -- he was too old and full of fear to safely begin Jedi training. Qui-Gon disagreed, believing the boy to be the Chosen One of an ancient Jedi prophecy. Obi-Wan could not believe that Qui-Gon was so defiant before the Council. Qui-Gon even declared that he would take Anakin as a Padawan learner, even though Obi-Wan was already his apprentice. Obi-Wan feared the boy was dangerous.
-
The Jedi accompanied the Queen as she returned to Naboo to liberate her planet. When a Sith Lord suddenly appeared in the midst of the battle, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan teamed up to defeat this dark menace. The Sith warrior, Darth Maul, ably handled both Jedi, and killed Qui-Gon. A fiercely distraught Obi-Wan fought back and sliced Darth Maul in two, sending both halves plummeting into a deep melting pit.
-
With great sadness and grief, Obi-Wan cradled the dying body of his mentor. Qui-Gon's last words were for Obi-Wan to train Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon died believing the boy to be the Chosen One who would restore balance to the Force. For slaying the Sith Lord, Obi-Wan was granted the title of Jedi Knight, and his first act was to take Anakin as his apprentice. The Jedi Council approved, though Yoda had grave misgivings.
-
For over a decade, Obi-Wan guided young Anakin on the path to Jedi Knighthood. Having to rein in an adventure-seeking youth made Obi-Wan wise -- and maybe cynical -- beyond his years. Still, Obi-Wan recognized Anakin's strengths as well as his weaknesses, and tried to impart his lessons with the patience and understanding that his mentor, Qui-Gon, did. Obi-Wan grew increasingly concerned that Anakin's raw powers made him arrogant.
-
Obi-Wan and Anakin were called by the Supreme Chancellor to protect the life of Senator Padmé Amidala. Though Obi-Wan carried a less-than-favorable impression of politics, he nonetheless took the assignment very seriously. A failed assassination attempt left Obi-Wan with a valuable clue -- an exotic weapon not recognized by the analysis droids of the Jedi Temple.
-
Obi-Wan continued the investigation. He journeyed to Coruscant's Coco Town, a shabby stretch of city where an old friend, Dexter Jettster, lived and worked. Dex, the proprietor of a simple diner, was a wealth of knowledge, and was able to identify the weapon as a Kamino saberdart.
-
In searching out Kamino, Obi-Wan discovered a dangerous and disturbing mystery. The vaunted Jedi Archives, perhaps the largest repository of lore in the galaxy, had no record of the planet that Dex described. Conferring with Yoda, Obi-Wan learned that Kamino had been erased from the archives.
-
Kenobi journeyed to the storm-shrouded world of Kamino. There, he made contact with the Prime Minister, Lama Su, and the mystery surrounding the planet became even more tangled. As explained by the Kaminoans, Obi-Wan was expected. A decade prior, the Kaminoans had begun crafting an immense clone army on the behalf of the Jedi for use by the Republic. Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas, believed dead at the time, had apparently commissioned the army.
-
The courteous Kaminoans gave Kenobi a tour of their cloning facility in Tipoca City. Obi-Wan saw hundreds of identical clone troopers, training and preparing, encased in modern, white armor. This seemed to have nothing to do with the assassination attempt on Amidala, until Kenobi met with the original genetic template for the clones, Jango Fett.
-
Jango Fett, a notorious bounty hunter, had called Kamino home for a decade. Obi-Wan, never breaking his cover story of inspecting the clones, had a brief yet tense conversation with the hunter. Kenobi recognized the man's armor from the assassination attempts on Coruscant, and was tasked by the Jedi Council to take Fett into custody for questioning.
-
This resulted in a fierce brawl between Kenobi and Fett. Jango Fett's weapon-covered suit aided him in landing blows on the Jedi, and the bounty hunter also benefited from cover fire from his young son, Boba. Ultimately, Jango escaped aboard his starship, Slave I, but not before Kenobi was able to secure a homing device to his ship.
-
Kenobi shadowed Jango to the ringed world of Geonosis before he was discovered pursuing Slave I. A dangerous chase ensued through the rocky rings of the red planet, and Kenobi's starfighter sustained light damage from a blistering hail of laser fire. Fett again thought he lost his pursuer and proceeded to land, but Kenobi continued his chase.
-
Obi-Wan secretly landed on Geonosis, and snuck into one of its massive spire-complexes. Inside, he found a gathering of Separatist minds, including the leader of the movement, Count Dooku. He learned that Dooku was gathering the heads of the commerce guilds and pooling their military resources, making one huge army to challenge the Republic. Kenobi warned the Jedi Council of the impending Separatist action, but his communication was cut short when he was taken captive.
-
As per Geonosian custom, Kenobi was sentenced to be executed. Joining him were Anakin and Padmé, who had journeyed to Geonosis in a vain rescue effort. The trio was chained to pillars in a massive Geonosian execution arena, and three horrible beasts were unleashed upon them. Unarmed and shackled, the prisoners were resourceful enough to escape certain death. Kenobi avoided the deadly cutting swipes of a vicious acklay long enough for Jedi reinforcements to arrive.
-
Two hundred Jedi Knights infiltrated the arena, and the Separatists countered by unleashing many more battle droids into combat. Jedi fell by the dozens, but Obi-Wan fought valiantly and survived. This was but a prelude to the start of the Clone Wars, as the newly formed Republic military stormed Geonosis.
-
Obi-Wan and Anakin chased Dooku to the old Jedi's hidden hangar. Defying Obi-Wan's instructions, the headstrong Padawan rushed in only to be overpowered by Dooku. Dooku then injured Obi-Wan's arm and leg with glancing saber strikes. As Dooku was about to administer the deathblow, Anakin leaped forward and saved his Master. Dooku ultimately fled once Yoda arrived to deal with the renegade Jedi.
-
As a general in the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi served the Senate and the Republic heroically, on numerous historic battlefronts. Despite his reservations, he became a seasoned starfighter pilot, learning several tricks from his unorthodox Padawan as the duo blazed a trail of victory through Separatists lines. Kenobi was promoted to Jedi Master, and served on the Council, while Anakin became a Jedi Knight.
-
The Jedi made tracking down and destroying the new Separatist superweapon, the battleship Malevolence, a top priority. After the ship had been extensively damaged by Republic starfighters and cruisers, Obi-Wan and Anakin boarded it. Kenobi was tasked with shutting down the ship's hyperdrive, but he was chased off by General Grievous before he could succeed. Skywalker saved the day by using the hyperdrive to propel the ship into a dead moon.
-
Anakin and Obi-Wan once again faced off against Count Dooku. Aboard a Separatist frigate, Anakin ordered Dooku to surrender, but the Sith Lord instead vanished through an escape hatch. Anakin impulsively dove through the open hatch to give chase, while Obi-Wan raced toward the hangar in a bid to head Dooku off at the pass. The Count escaped the Jedi... but not for long.
-
Amazingly, Dooku was captured by Weequay pirates and held for ransom. When Obi-Wan and Anakin arrived to investigate, they were drugged and tethered together by a charged line. What's worse, they were in turn shackled to Count Dooku. The pirates greedily sought to triple their pay for three hostages, forcing Obi-Wan and Anakin to work with Dooku to make good their escape.
-
Obi-Wan and Anakin were dispatched to frigid Orto Plutonia to investigate the disappearance of a Republic outpost crew. Obi-Wan discovered that the moon was inhabited by a tribe of Talz who wanted offworlders to leave them alone. Kenobi tried to convince the war-bent Chairman Chi Cho, who had jurisdiction on the moon, to depart peacefully, but Cho's aggressive ways led to conflict on the ice. Cho's successor, Senator Chuchi, followed Obi-Wan's advice and made peace.
-
When the Separatists invaded the planet Ryloth, the Republic launched a multi-pronged mission to free the planet and its native Twi'leks. With the clones of Ghost Company led by Clone Commander Cody, Obi-Wan was tasked to liberate the town of Nabat. Kenobi used the Force to turn a herd of rampaging gutkurr creatures unleashed by the Separatists. Helped by a young survivor, Numa, Obi-Wan and his troops were able to complete their mission.
-
When Darth Sidious sought to capture a Jedi holocron containing a list of the most Force-sensitive children in the galaxy, the Jedi sprang into action to protect the children. Visions in the Force led Obi-Wan to Rodia, where bounty hunter Cad Bane had targeted a gifted child. Obi-Wan was too late to stop Bane, but Skywalker and his apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, tracked the missing children to Mustafar and rescued them.
-
An unscheduled landing on Felucia drew the attention of the Jedi to a beleaguered farming village beset by pirates. The farmers hired a team of bounty hunters to protect them from the marauders. Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka joined in the defense, and Kenobi worked quite well with the bounty hunter leader, Sugi.
-
The Separatists retook Geonosis in the Clone Wars, necessitating a major Republic strike against the world. Four Jedi generals -- Obi-Wan, Anakin, Luminara Unduli and Ki-Adi-Mundi -- were involved in the complex operation. Kenobi's gunship was shot down during the landing, and he had to hold out long enough to be reinforced.
-
Later, the Jedi were able to track down the Geonosian resurgence to the efforts of its previously unknown queen, Karina the Great. Kenobi was fascinated by the way her hive intelligence could seemingly animate Geonosian corpses, and wished the study the brain worms she employed, regardless of the danger inherent in their study.
-
Kenobi once again tangled with General Grievous, this time high over the planet Saleucami. Grievous had kidnapped Jedi Council member Eeth Koth, and Obi-Wan launched a diversionary attack against his warship, to cover a rescue mission carried out by Anakin and Adi Gallia. Kenobi and Grievous once again crossed blades, but the General escaped to the planet's surface where the tenacious Kenobi continued to track him. As always, the cowardly Grievous ran and hid.
-
The Jedi Council began to suspect that someone on Mandalore was amassing a military force, and dispatched Obi-Wan to investigate. Duchess Satine Kryze repeatedly insisted to Kenobi that Mandalore wished to be left out of the war, for her planet embraced neutrality and pacifism. When Obi-Wan discovered that Death Watch, a violent splinter group, was involved, it became clear that the duchess' philosophies were not universally embraced by the Mandalorians.
-
Kenobi and Anakin accompanied Duchess Satine as protectors when her starship travelled to Coruscant. The duchess was targeted for assassination by Death Watch, and Obi-Wan came to her rescue. Anakin was surprised to learn that years ago, when Obi-Wan was a Padawan, he fell in love with the duchess, and would have voluntarily left the Order to be with her.
-
The duchess arrived on Coruscant to plead for the Republic to stay out of Mandalore's affairs. Falsified security intelligence prompted the Republic to launch a full scale occupation of Mandalore -- a move that would have pushed the planet to the Separatist side -- but together with Obi-Wan, the duchess uncovered Death Watch conspirators on Coruscant, and proof that there was no need for invasion.
-
Obi-Wan and Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos teamed up in a bid to track Ziro the Hutt, a criminal who had escaped Republic incarceration. Kenobi had a tough time working with Quinlan -- Vos was a most untraditional, and unpredictable Jedi, even more than Anakin. Still, the two made an effective team in defending against an attack by someone else looking for Ziro, the bounty hunter Cad Bane.
-
Though Obi-Wan did not know the whole story of betrayal and vengeance that created Savage Opress, he knew that the dark warrior needed to be stopped. Anakin and Obi-Wan came across Savage when he assassinated King Katuunko, and teamed up to try and stop him. Kenobi was reminded of the deadliness of Darth Maul, Opress' brother, and was thankful that that menace had been destroyed a decade earlier.
-
Perhaps the strangest encounter of the Clone Wars involved a voyage to the mysterious realm of Mortis, a world on no starcharts and seemingly removed from space and time. In this realm, where the Force runs freely like a rushing current, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka met with a trio of Force weilders locked in a power struggle. The Father attempted to hold his Son and Daughter in balance, but the Son wanted more power.
-
One of the most grueling missions of the Clone Wars was infiltration into the impenetrable prison, the Citadel, to rescue Even Piell and Captain Tarkin. To sneak past the prison's life-form sensors, Obi-Wan and his team froze themselves in carbonite. At the Citadel, the rescue team braved droid patrols and the planet's volatile terrain. Even Piell died in the rescue, though Captain Tarkin escaped with valuable information.
-
During a mission to find the vanished colonists of Kiros, Obi-Wan tangled with a Zygerrian slaver brute named Darts D'Nar. Kenobi challenged the Separatist-backed slave-master to a one-on-one brawl, and was brutally pummeled by the brawny Zygerrian. Despite the beating, Obi-Wan remained in control throughout -- he was simply stalling for Anakin to succeed in his mission of deactivating explosives D'Nar had planted throughout the city.
-
The Republic investigation into the missing Togruta colonists led Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka to Zygerria, where they were captured and enslaved. Obi-Wan was relocated to the slave camps of Kadavo, where he was forced to toil in an ore processing facility. His cruel taskmasters kept his defiance in check by tormenting the Togruta slaves should Obi-Wan act up. This nearly broke his spirit, but Kenobi held on long enough to escape during a Republic rescue.
-
The next grueling assignment for Obi-Wan required him to fake his death -- keeping even his closest friends Ahsoka and Anakin in the dark. Then, in secret, Obi-Wan had his appearance cosmetically altered to adopt the identity of hardened sniper, Rako Hardeen, the criminal who fired the shot that "killed" Obi-Wan.
-
As Rako, Obi-Wan was locked up at a high security prison on Coruscant, where he was to make contact with criminal mastermind Moralo Eval. Moralo was involved in a plot to target Supreme Chancellor Palpatine at an upcoming festival on Naboo. Obi-Wan had to race against time to ingratiate himself to Moralo.
-
Disguised as Rako, Obi-Wan struck up an uneasy alliance with bounty hunter Cad Bane, who remained wary of Rako throughout their brief partnership. Obi-Wan even had to tangle with Anakin, battling his former apprentice who was unaware of Rako's true identity. Obi-Wan's repeated successes as Rako allowed him to infiltrate the posse of bounty hunters assembled by Moralo Eval and Count Dooku to kidnap the Chancellor.
-
Little did Obi-Wan realize that the selection process was actually engineered to weed out the Jedi in the midst. Dooku knew all along that a Jedi had infiltrated his hunters, and he used this deception to distract the Jedi from his true kidnapping attempt. Ultimately, Kenobi and Skywalker were able to thwart Dooku's bid to capture the Chancellor at Naboo, but the Dark Lord escaped to menace the Jedi.
-
Kenobi was shocked to discover that Darth Maul, the Sith Lord who murdered his Master, had somehow survived his bisection by Obi-Wan's blade ten years earlier. Maul, resurrected by dark power, had teamed with his brother Savage Opress to begin a scourge on the galaxy that targeted innocents. Maul's slaughter of civilians on Raydonia drew Obi-Wan into a trap.
-
Maul did not want to simply kill Obi-Wan. He wanted the Jedi to suffer, as the broken Sith Lord had for a decade in madness and despair. Kenobi was able to escape the clutches of the Sith brothers with the help of a surprise ally: Asajj Ventress. The former assassin had begun a new life as a bounty hunter, and she wanted to see Savage and Maul brought to an end as well.
-
Obi-Wan and Ventress escaped the Sith brothers, but Kenobi was not done with Maul. He tracked the Dark Lord to Florrum, where Maul and Savage were attempting to raise an army of pirates. Obi-Wan and Adi Gallia did battle with the Dark Lords. Though Obi-Wan sliced off Savage's arm, and the pirates were able to chase the Sith Lords away, Adi Gallia died in combat with Savage.
-
Whatever reservations Kenobi had about politicians in general, and Palpatine specifically, they had to be discarded when the Jedi undertook the important mission to rescue the Chancellor from the clutches of General Grievous. The cyborg general of the droid army led a bold strike against Coruscant, and managed to abduct the Chancellor. Obi-Wan and Anakin came racing into the battle aboard their Jedi starfighters.
-
Infiltrating General Grievous' flagship, the Jedi found the Chancellor bound to a chair in the spacious observation deck. Waiting for them was Count Dooku. Obi-Wan and Anakin challenged the Sith Lord as a team. Dooku proved a formidable opponent. He Force-pushed Obi-Wan like a ragdoll against the wall of the quarters, knocking him unconscious. Obi-Wan never saw Anakin defeat the Count, or coldly behead him at Palpatine's goading.
-
Obi-Wan's role on the Council put a strain on his relationship with Anakin. The Chancellor requested that Anakin be on the Council as his representative. Obi-Wan explained that the Council wanted Skywalker so he could report on the Chancellor's dealings. Anakin was torn; he counted Palpatine and Obi-Wan among his closest friends, and now both were asking him to spy on the other.
-
When clone intelligence reports indicated that General Grievous had fled to Utapau, Obi-Wan took three battalions to the planet. Landing in a massive sinkhole city, Kenobi rode atop a native lizard named Boga and tracked down Grievous. Grievous climbed aboard his waiting wheel bike and tore off into the alleys and corridors of the city. Kenobi gave pursuit atop Boga, jumping onto Grievous' vehicle and wrestling him to the ground.
-
In a knuckle-crunching brawl that followed, Grievous and Kenobi traded fierce blows. Kenobi was nearly bested, but in the course of the brawl, the Jedi had loosened the plates that protected Grievous' organic innards. Snatching Grievous' blaster pistol, Kenobi fired at the General. The blast pierced Grievous' pressurized gut sac and burned its way through his vital organs. The General was dead. The Clone Wars were over.
-
But the betrayal of the clone forces had begun. Unbeknownst to Obi-Wan, back on Coruscant, Palpatine had put his master plan into motion. The Chancellor enacted Order 66, a secret command that turned every clone commander against their Jedi Generals. Absolutely loyal to the Republic, Commander Cody believed that the Jedi were conspiring against the Republic. The clones opened fire on Kenobi. He barely escaped Utapau.
-
Kenobi made contact with Bail Organa and Jedi Master Yoda. The loyalist Senator reported that the Jedi Temple had been attacked by clone forces. The emergency beacon contained within the Jedi Temple was calling all the Jedi home. This signal was luring the scattered Jedi into a trap. Yoda and Obi-Wan realized that they needed to shut off that signal if the Jedi Order was to be preserved.
-
Returning to Coruscant, Kenobi and Yoda found the Jedi Temple in ruins. Dead Jedi littered the once polished corridors. The corpses were burned by blaster fire, but several exhibited slashes from a lightsaber. Kenobi realized the terrible truth, a suspicion verified by holographic records of the attack. Anakin Skywalker had caused this destruction. He had succumbed to the dark side. The Chancellor was Darth Sidious, and Skywalker was his new apprentice, Darth Vader.
-
Kenobi rushed to tell Padmé this horrific news and determine Anakin's whereabouts. Padmé was shocked, and though she knew where Skywalker was headed next, she did not divulge this to Kenobi. She knew that Kenobi's next mission would be to stop Anakin -- perhaps even kill him. Protecting the man she loved and the father of her unborn children, Padmé secretly departed Coruscant to confront Anakin. Kenobi stowed away aboard her vessel.
-
Arriving on Mustafar, Kenobi emerged from Padmé's ship as the two lovers reunited. When Anakin saw Kenobi aboard her ship, he snapped. Anakin accused Padmé of betraying him, and used the Force the strangle her. Kenobi witnessed the evil in Anakin, and attacked his former apprentice. In the duel that followed, Obi-Wan emerged victorious, slicing off Anakin's legs and arm, and leaving him to burn in the lava.
-
Kenobi picked up Skywalker's dropped lightsaber and returned to Padmé's starship. She was dying, but the life of the babies she carried within her still glowed brightly through the Force. They flew to the nearest refuge, the asteroid mining colony of Polis Massa. The alien medics tried to save her life, but it was no use. She died as she gave birth to twins: Luke and Leia.
-
Yoda, Bail and Obi-Wan were the only ones who knew of the children's fate. They recognized that should the Emperor ever discover that Anakin had offspring, they would be in danger. Obi-Wan took the young boy, Luke, to live with Owen and Beru Lars, moisture farmers on Tatooine. The young girl, Leia, was taken by Bail to Alderaan.
-
Obi-Wan went into hiding on Tatooine. He would stay there for decades, adopting the name of Ben. The locals would refer to him as a "crazy old hermit." During this time, Kenobi spent years communing with the Force. Through meditation, he made contact with the spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn. His former Master had discovered the secret of preserving his identity in the netherworld of the Force. Obi-Wan studied from him, learning this ability.
-
During the height of the Galactic Civil War, Luke Skywalker stumbled upon a pair of droids from Alderaan looking for Obi-Wan Kenobi. This brought Luke face-to-face with Obi-Wan, who explained to Luke about his father, though the Jedi didn't reveal the whole truth to the lad. Uncertain that Luke would be ready for the burden, Kenobi explained to him that Anakin Skywalker was an amazing pilot, a great warrior and a good friend.
-
Obi-Wan attributed Anakin's death to a rogue pupil of his, Darth Vader, who betrayed and murdered Anakin. Since, Kenobi reasoned, Anakin ceased to be upon the emergence of Vader, what he told Luke was true, from a certain point of view. Obi-Wan even gave Luke a gift from his father: Anakin Skywalker's blue-bladed lightsaber. Thus began Luke's journey into the world of the Jedi.
-
Having taken the mission to rescue Princess Leia from the Empire, Obi-Wan and Luke hired Han Solo's Millennium Falcon as transportation to Alderaan. During the trip, Kenobi began Luke's lightsaber training. The brief session was cut short as the Falcon emerged from hyperspace to find Alderaan destroyed by the Death Star, the Empire's massive new battle station.
-
The tramp freighter was captured by the Empire and taken aboard the Death Star. Once aboard, it was Kenobi's mission to disable the tractor beam terminal responsible for holding the ship. Kenobi did so, carefully sneaking through the labyrinthine corridors of the battle station. Though his skill in the Force kept his presence a secret from stormtroopers and Imperial officers, it only served to draw the attention of Darth Vader.
-
The Dark Lord, now rebuilt with cyborg machinery, confronted Kenobi as the Jedi was returning to the Falcon. After decades, Vader finally squared off against his former master. As a diversionary tactic to help the others escape, Kenobi sacrificed himself to Vader. The Dark Lord struck the Jedi down, and Kenobi became one with the Force. He left behind no body, just empty robes and his own Jedi weapon.
-
Kenobi's death strengthened Skywalker's resolve to serve both the Rebellion and the Force. At times of great trial, Kenobi's voice would reach out to Luke, offering counsel. Later, the spectral form of Kenobi would appear to Luke. The ghost-like image advised young Skywalker to venture to Dagobah, where he could complete his training under the guidance of Yoda.
-
Later, Kenobi appeared to Luke and revealed the truth of his lineage. Though Kenobi felt that the dark side could only be defeated by bringing about the deaths of Anakin and the Emperor, Luke strongly believed that his father still had good in him. Luke set out to turn Anakin away from the dark side and succeeded, though at a great price.
-
Anakin suffered grievous wounds in his final battle, and died having returned to the light. His spectral form joined that of Kenobi and Yoda during the Rebel's celebration of the Empire's defeat.
