Located on the streets of Coco Town, a dilapidated industrial area on the city-planet of Coruscant, is a quaint and outdated eatery known simply as Dex's Diner. Here, hard-working laborers come for a quick and home-style meal or a cup of freshly brewed Jawa juice or ardees, and idly chatter about local politics, sports, or current events. Serving the patrons were a pair of regular waitresses, the whirring and wheeled WA-7, and her organic and freckled partner, Hermione Bagwa. The food comes courtesy of cook and proprietor, Dexter Jettster, a hulking alien with a multitude of past careers and life experiences.

Obi-Wan Kenobi counted on Dexter Jettster, an old friend, to identify a poison dart, and Jettster didn't fail him. The cook correctly recognized the small-tined projectile as a Kamino saberdart. Few have ever heard of the planet Kamino, but Dex not only informed Obi-Wan as to its location (12 parsecs south of the Rishi Maze), but also its inhabitants. Dex warned that the native Kaminoans -- cloners of some repute -- keep to themselves, but are welcoming to those with the credits to spare.

Hermione Bagwa was a waitress at Dex's Diner in the Coco Town section of Coruscant, serving a never-ending parade of clients that included speeder drivers, maintenance techs, ambassadors and Senate aides -- and sometimes even a Jedi Knight or two.

A legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a noble man and gifted in the ways of the Force. He trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor.

Coruscant is the vibrant heart and capital of the galaxy during the age of the Empire, featuring a diverse mix of cultures and citizens spread over hundreds of levels. Once the home of the main Jedi Temple -- the central hub of Jedi training and learning for over a thousand generations and the repository of the Jedi Archives -- these traditions ended when the planet bore witness to Order 66.

For over a thousand years, the Galactic Republic stood firm as a democratic union that governed the galaxy. The Republic was governed by the Galactic Senate, consisting of elected officials from each system and world, and Jedi Knights served as peacekeepers. With the rise of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, however, the Galactic Republic -- and democracy -- would crumble.
