The hulking chieftain of a primitive tribe of Talz on Orto Plutonia, Thi-Sen was featured in "Trespass," a first season episode of
The Clone Wars (2009), written by Steven Melching, directed by Brian Kalin O'Connell. Thi-Sen was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
Thi-Sen's Talz were secretive and territorial, remaining undiscovered by the Pantoran scouts who lay claim to Orto Plutonia. During the Clone Wars, a Separatist outpost and a Republic base -- Glid Station -- were wiped out by angry Talz who wished to be left alone on their world.
The bellicose Pantoran Chairman, Chi Cho, refused to believe the Talz had any claim on Orto Plutonia. The Jedi attempted to negotiate a diplomatic solution for both the Talz and the Pantorans, but Cho declared war on Thi-Sen's tribe. A costly battle ensued, in which many clones protecting the chairman were killed and Talz atop narglatch mounts also died. Pantora's Senatorial representative, Riyo Chuchi, took over negotiations after Chi Cho's death. She offered the Talz sovereignty over Orto Plutonia and withdrew her Pantoran and Republic representatives.
To his fellow Talz, Thi-Sen holds the title "Son of Suns," which is an artifact from some of the earliest
Star Wars draft scripts. The second draft screenplay (George Lucas, 1975) began with a prophetic quote about a legendary savior who would emerge during the tie of greatest despair. Thi-Sen wears a fan-shaped narglatch tailbone as a headdress and wears a narglatch hide as a cape.
