Sei Taria was Valorum's administrative aide in the Senate during his last days as Supreme Chancellor. When Valorum was replaced by Chancellor Palpatine, Taria did not continue her role. By ten years into Palpatine's rule, the office of Supreme Chancellor had a cadre of new administrative aides, including the ghostly Sly Moore and the Rodian, Dar Wac.

A colleague of Senator Palpatine, the young Taria learned much from the representative from Naboo. Taria helped Valorum handle the myriad fine details involved in governmental procedure and bureaucracy, and even spoke on the Chancellor's behalf on occasion. A wealthy woman, Taria would attend official Senate meetings decked out in expensive septsilk robes.
