Bonkik, Pax![]()
![]() From the Expanded UniverseOften it is harder to break ties of blood rather than ties of love. Such was the bond between the Rodian Pax Bonkik, and his younger brother Trax.Pax had looked out for his brother ever since their shiftless, spice-addled parents had sold them into slavery. Passing from a owner to owner, they learned the skills necessary to increase their worth, working primarily as mechanics. They ended up in the hands of minor league Podracing sensation, Mars Guo. The arrogant Guo forced the Bonkik brothers to toil away to near-exhaustion every day as they worked to perfect his hulking Podracer. They also had to weather his incessant and constant boasting. In a rare moment of peace and quiet, Pax struck up a friendship with Teemto Pagalies, another racer. The affable Pagalies was a staunch opponent to slavery, particularly since the unattainable object of his heart's affection was Ann Gella, a Twi'lek slave owned by Sebulba. Shortly before the Boonta Eve Classic, the impulsive Trax got into a heated argument with Guo. Mars beat Trax mercilessly, and swore that after the Boonta, he was going to sell him off. Pax feared losing track of his brother, and also knew that Guo had his eye on Sebulba's masseuses. He told Teemto that Mars was likely to sell off Trax and take his money to buy Ann Gella. Teemto at first did not want to get involved, but he hated the idea of the Rodian brothers separated, or worse, the lovely Ann becoming the property of the noisome Phuii. Before Teemto could offer any help, Guo was taken out of commission in a spectacular crash during the Boonta Eve Classic. Rather than be free of their obnoxious owner, the Bonkik brothers had their worst fears realized. A bitter Sebulba had somehow persuaded that Guo's possessions be put up for auction while he was in the medcenter. This allowed Sebulba to snatch up needed parts to piece together his career. Teemto, himself shaking off a nasty spill in the race, was only able to afford to free Pax and Trax was sold to Sebulba. Pax was determined to save his brother, and he continued working as Teemto's race mechanic, traveling the racing circuit and keeping an eye out for Sebulba and Trax. Pax barely scrounged enough credits to pay Teemto back. After a spectacular win at the Aleen Classic, Teemto told Pax that he had enough credits to buy Ann Gella's freedom from Sebulba. Yet at the last moment, Teemto changed his mind and freed Trax instead. The two Rodians were never apart again. This entry was developed by Hyperspace member "javajawas".
