A by-the-book Jedi, Luminara Unduli served the Jedi Order during the last years of the Republic. Together with her Padawan Barriss Offee, Luminara joined the Jedi rescue effort on Geonosis, engaging Count Dooku’s battle droids in the first conflict of the Clone Wars.

Along with many other Jedi, Luminara led clone troops during the war against the Separatists. She supervised the transport of Nute Gunray to Coruscant and took part in the second invasion of Geonosis. Luminara also continued to train Barriss, though her Padawan would eventually turn against the Jedi Order.

Luminara led troops during the Battle of Kashyyyk, and for years it was believed that she had died there, killed by her own soldiers when Supreme Chancellor Palpatine issued Order 66. The truth was different: She was taken into Imperial custody and held in the prison known as the Spire before her execution. Holographic footage of a captive Luminara was then used to lure fugitive Jedi into an Imperial trap.
