From the Movies
A human Senator during the final days of the Galactic Republic, Bana Breemu was one of the few trusted politicians to be invited to Bail Organa and Mon Mothma's clandestine gatherings of delegates concerned with Chancellor Palpatine's policies. Aware that they treaded dangerously close to treason in their discussions, Breemu advised caution. When Padmé Amidala wished to include the Jedi in their aims, Breemu feared it was too risky. She instead wanted to attempt a diplomatic solution first, by presenting the Petition of 2,000 to Chancellor Palpatine.
From the Expanded Universe
Bana Breemu represented the industrious worlds of the Humbarine sector, an area of space that took the brunt of many Separatist attacks. With enemy forces having infiltrated or sundered so many of her worlds, she found her political voice slipping as some in the Republic considered Humbarine a lost cause.
Behind the Scenes
Unlike some of the other concerned Senators, Bana Breemu's scenes were entirely contained to Padmé's apartment meeting. This meant that when that scene was cut out, she disappeared from the theatrical release entirely, as she was not part of the Senate delegation that met Palpatine after his escape from Grievous' flagship. For the DVD release of Episode III, Bana Breemu's one scene -- with her role filled by actress Bai Ling --- was included as a deleted scene.
