History

Captain Phasma as depicted in

The First Order has taken an interest in the Colossus, utilizing pirates to test the platform's defenses, in a plot that reaches Captain Phasma herself.

Captain Phasma

During the time of the rise of the First Order, Captain Phasma took a personal interest in keeping the organization's secrets. When she discovered Resistance spies Poe Dameron and Kazuda Xiono had infiltrated an abandoned dedlanite mine, she saw to the destruction of the facility personally.

Phasma served as one of the First Order’s commanding triumvirate, though she sometimes clashed with both the technocratic General Hux and the mysterious Kylo Ren. She worked tirelessly to make the First Order’s stormtroopers the galaxy’s finest soldiers, searching for any sign of weakness or disobedience in the ranks.

Ambushed on Starkiller Base, Phasma agreed to lower the weapon’s shields, and was dropped into a trash compactor by Finn and Han Solo. She soon escaped, and ruthlessly eliminated all traces of her betrayal. Returning to the ranks, she prepared the Supremacy’s troops for a final, climactic battle with the Resistance. That battle, however, unfolded without Phasma: she fell in battle against the former FN-2187, whom she’d helped train as a stormtrooper.

  • During the First Order’s raid on Jakku, Captain Phasma accompanied Kylo Ren to confront Lor San Tekka, and oversaw her legions’ destruction of the village of Tuanul.

  • Phasma’s stormtroopers quickly overwhelmed the villagers, killing San Tekka and capturing the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. But the operation didn’t go perfectly: stormtroopers were killed, and one – FN-2187 – seemed unsettled by the orders he’d been given.

  • After FN-2187 broke Dameron out of prison and fled with him to Jakku, Phasma studied the rogue trooper’s records. They revealed no prior signs of nonconformity. Something had gone wrong, despite Hux’s behavior conditioning and her ceaseless combat instruction and drills.

  • At the First Order’s secret Starkiller Base, Phasma and her legions listened as General Hux heralded the end of the corrupt New Republic and fired the base’s superweapon, destroying the distant New Republic capital of Hosnian Prime. The Empire was dead, but a better, stronger version stood ready to take its place.

  • The First Order’s forces returned to Starkiller Base and prepared to fire on D’Qar, site of the principal Resistance base. But the Resistance launched a mission to destroy Starkiller Base, with the renegade FN-2187 guiding Han Solo and Chewbacca through the facility. Finn seized Phasma, forcing the First Order commander to lead the infiltrators to the base’s shield control room. Phasma then suffered the indignity of being dropped into a trash compactor.

  • Phasma was stationed aboard the First Order flagship Supremacy when Snoke’s forces drove the Resistance from its base on D’Qar. While First Order Star Destroyers pursued Leia Organa’s fleet across space, Phasma prepared the regime’s ground forces for action.

  • Alerted to an intrusion aboard the Supremacy, Phasma and her troops intercepted Finn, Rose Tico and DJ before they could shut down the First Order flagship’s hyperspace tracker. Staring down the former FN-2187, Phasma purred that it was so good to have him back.

  • DJ quickly cut a deal, revealing that the Resistance planned to evacuate its flagship by boarding small, hard-to-detect transports. As the First Order began targeting these ships, Phasma ordered her soldiers to execute Finn and Rose with laser axes.

  • The killing blows never fell: the Supremacy was torn in two when Vice Admiral Holdo sent the Raddus into hyperspace through the First Order fleet. With the hangar in flames, Phasma rallied her troops and faced off against Finn in a furious hand-to-hand fight.

  • Finn got the better of his former commander, cleaving a rent in Phasma’s chromium mask. The deck beneath the First Order warrior collapsed and Phasma vanished into the fiery ruin below.

    The First Order

The New Republic’s rise reduced the once-mighty Empire to a rump state hemmed in by strict disarmament treaties and punishing reparations. But in the galaxy’s Unknown Regions, former Imperial officers, nobles and technologists plotted a return to power, building fleets and armies in secret. This movement became the First Order, ruled by Supreme Leader Snoke, and is now ready to reclaim the Imperial legacy.

    Finn

Committed to the cause of the Resistance, Finn fights alongside his closest friends in the struggle to defeat the First Order, the evil regime he once served as a stormtrooper. As FN-2187, he was trained from birth to serve the First Order, but a skirmish on Jakku awakened his conscience and drove him down a different path, one that proved both heroic and dangerous.

    First Order Stormtroopers

The First Order’s infantry units wear stark white armor derived from that worn by the Republic’s clone troopers and the Empire’s stormtroopers. Members of this new generation of stormtroopers are trained from birth, growing up with unit designations instead of names and fed a steady diet of First Order propaganda to ensure absolute loyalty. Where the Empire opted for numbing routine, the First Order’s training simulations and live-fire drills encourage improvisation on the battlefield, making these stormtroopers more dangerous than their Imperial predecessors.

    Starkiller Base

Deep in the Unknown Regions, the First Order constructed a superweapon that used an entire planet as its weapons platform. The deadly Starkiller harvested energy from its system’s star, contained it within magnetic fields inside the planetary core, and then converted that energy into an ultra-powerful beam that blasted through hyperspace, able to sterilize the worlds of a distant star system with a single shot. Starkiller Base’s first shot obliterated the New Republic capital of Hosnian Prime. The planet was then destroyed in a daring Resistance raid.

    General Hux

Young and ruthless, General Hux is a believer in technology, and eagerly awaits the day when the First Order’s innovations will help bring down the remnants of the New Republic and the Resistance – a victory he believes will also lead to his ruling the galaxy. His increasingly poisonous rivalry with Kylo Ren causes him to take a desperate gamble.

    The Supremacy

A capital ship built on a nearly unimaginable scale, the Supremacy is a vast flying wing more than 60 kilometers wide. In addition to being a warship with enormous firepower, it serves Supreme Leader Snoke as throne room and the First Order as mobile capital. Its vast interior houses army training grounds, shipyards, production lines and R&D labs. The mighty ship was torn in two before the Battle of Crait, ripped apart when Vice Admiral Holdo sent the Raddus into hyperspace along a path that passed through the larger craft.
