Bring on the Obscure Characters

By Bonnie Burton

Of all the characters, Han Solo remains his favorite. "There's nothing wrong with being a little cocky," Fatone smiles. But it's the obscure characters played by George Lucas and his children that really intrigue Fatone. "I want to know all their side stories," Fatone says. "You barely see them in Episode III, but I want to know more about them. Why is George blue?"

Considering how much he appreciates the films, Fatone says it's easy to understand why people have been celebrating its characters and stories for over 30 years. "Star Wars will always be cool to me because it's so universal and so many generations really love it," Fatone explains. "Even my six-year-old daughter watches it and likes it and knows who the characters are. I think generations to come will continue to appreciate it. George Lucas had that dream and imagination, and look what he did. He could end up inspiring the next George Lucas, not that anyone could top Star Wars."

While Fatone continues to dance with the stars, he also hopes to later pursue some more roles to add to his already impressive acting resume which includes parts in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Cooler, "My Big Fat Greek Life," "Kim Possible," The Bros., "Shorty McShorts' Shorts" and Homie Spumoni. In fact, he isn't ruling out returning to the small screen again if the right TV show comes along. "Especially if you're casting for the Star Wars live-action show," Fatone smiles.
