Indiana Jones Sketch Cards from Tom Hodges
April 15, 2008

Add an original piece of Indiana Jones art to your collection with the latest of Artist Sketch cards in the Indiana Jones Heritage Trading Card Set from Topps -- in stores now.

As one of the artists involved in the exciting new series of Topps cards that celebrate the Indiana Jones films, Tom Hodges says he was excited to be drawing the adventurer in action.

"It's something different," Hodges says. "I never really did any kind of Indy art and this was a great opportunity to do so. I enjoyed drawing Indy a lot. I like being able to put my spin on the character. I also enjoyed drawing Sallah and Indy's dad, Henry Sr."

With the next Indiana Jones movie coming out in May, Hodges believes Indiana Jones is still one of the most beloved characters in cinema for a variety of reasons. "He is real in the sense that this kind of guy could exist," Hodges explains. "He doesn't have superpowers. He doesn't have a spaceship. He has a whip, a pistol and he uses his head. It's sort of why people connect with Batman and Spider-Man. Sure, Spidey has powers, but he wasn't born that way and he's struggling to make ends meet. Batman, while rich, relies on his brains to get him through."

Here's a first look at the sketch cards from Hodges.
