Star Wars moviemakers: imagine your movie watched by thousands of viewers in person, by millions online, and potentially by Star Wars writer/director George Lucas himself! It could happen to you if your Star Wars movie original is selected as a finalist in the 2007 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge.

But before you receive all that honor and glory, you're going to have to enter your movie. The deadline for the 2007 Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge, for the award ceremony at Celebration IV, is Monday, April 30, 2007. Talented moviemakers need to submit their movie before that date on AtomFilms' site in order to be considered in this year's challenge.

Moviemakers will find more ways to qualify than before. The Movie Challenge is revamped to include a category for "fan fiction" which will be offered for the first time, in addition to parody, documentary, experimental, and other categories.

Lucasfilm Ltd. has teamed up with AtomFilms and Spike TV to celebrate the best in fan made videos and animations. Spike TV is on board as a television partner to provide on-air exposure for the Challenge's top submissions, as judged by George Lucas, staffers at Lucasfilm and AtomFilms, as well as by the voting of online viewers.

Those who enter the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge and are chosen as finalists will find themselves and their movies in the spotlight. All finalists in the competition will be played at Star Wars Celebration IV in a dedicated track each day of the show. What's more, the best movies of the competition will be recognized at the Sixth Annual Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge Award Ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, May 27.
