A new era of celebrating the galaxy far, far away begins with The Official Star Wars Fan Club, now under the management of Wizards of the Coast.

Wizards of the Coast will now publish the Star Wars Insider magazine, and manage the online Star Wars store. Given the delay in publication of Star Wars Insider #51, Wizards is offering subscribers an extra issue free of charge.

The online Star Wars store is temporarily setting up shop at this address here. In the spring of 2001, Wizards of the Coast will launch an all new online store where you can buy your favorite Star Wars collectibles. The 1-800-TRUEFAN toll-free order number is still up and ready to accept your orders.

The Official Star Wars Fan Club began in the late 70s during the excitement that surrounded the release of the original movie. A quarterly newsletter, eventually titled Bantha Tracks, kept fans informed on the developments of the classic trilogy. In 1987, Fantastic Media and Publisher Dan Madsen took over the renamed Lucasfilm Fan Club, publishing a quarterly magazine that covered the various Lucasfilm projects. With Star Wars popularity on the rise in the 90s, the magazine was renamed the Star Wars Insider, and the Fan Club returned to its original Star Wars roots.
