Actress and popular performer Carrie Fisher is scheduled to appear at Star Wars Celebration Japan, the three-day festival set for July 19-21 near Tokyo. Fisher, who portrayed the heroic Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, has recently been traveling with her successful one-woman stage show, Wishful Drinking.

Always a favorite with audiences and Star Wars fans, Fisher is scheduled to appear daily in the Celebration Japan autograph hall to sign autographs and meet fans in person. She will also appear on stage for what is sure to be a lively and entertaining interview.

Fisher is recognized for both her onscreen and onstage roles, and was 19 years old when she became a cultural icon as Princess Leia in A New Hope. She is the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher. In addition to A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, Fisher has performed in numerous movies and television series, in her own series of television specials, Conversations from the Edge with Carrie Fisher, and in the upcoming Star Wars-based comedy, Fanboys. Fisher also devotes much of her time to writing, and is as gifted with the written word as she is the spoken. She has penned the best-selling novels Postcards from the Edge, Surrender the Pink, Delusions of Grandma, and The Best Awful.

Star Wars Celebration Japan will bring the best of the Saga to the Makuhari-Messe Convention Center in Chiba, near Tokyo, July 19-21. For three full days fans and pop culture enthusiasts will enjoy live Star Wars-themed entertainment including celebrity appearances and autograph sessions, stage shows, shopping for exclusive collectibles, costume contests, and exhibits and displays that will be found only at Celebration Japan.

Don't miss this landmark Star Wars fan event! Tickets for Celebration Japan will go on sale for all on May 17 (6:00 PM PDT) in the U.S., which is May 18 (10:00 AM) in Tokyo, at http://www.celebrationjapan.com and http://www.celebrationjapan.jp.
