Lucasfilm has received a number of inquiries in recent months about the legitimacy of expensive props from
Star Wars: Episode I being offered for sale. Direct from Skywalker Ranch, we'd like to set the record straight across the board: none of our real props have been released, and there are no legitimate reproductions of them available. The production has taken care to mark every single prop with clear indicators of its authenticity, and we know from inventory that none are missing. None of those fakes out there are worth buying. We don't want "scum and villainy" taking advantage of any of our fans or their enthusiasm.
