On a mission to steal weapons from the Empire for the smuggler Cikatro Vizago, Chopper engineered an argument with an astromech named R2-D2. The dispute was a ruse intended to let Sabine Wren discover where the Imperial weapons shipment was stored.
-
When the Empire discovered the deception, Chopper tried to stall the stormtroopers by starting a droid brawl with R2-D2. But Minister Maketh Tua recognized Chopper as the astromech who’d caused the original trouble, and wasn’t going to be fooled again.
-
Ezra’s Jedi training offered Chopper new chances for playing pranks. When Ezra tried to use the Force to levitate a bowl, Chopper surreptitiously picked it up with a manipulator arm, then hurled it at the would-be Jedi. Chopper then entertained himself by engineering a series of quarrels between Ezra and Zeb.
-
Chopper helped Ezra infiltrate the Imperial Academy with a new paint job courtesy of Sabine. But he then had to deliver a disquieting message from Ezra: The boy was staying undercover to rescue another cadet from the Imperial agent known as the Inquisitor.
-
When the Inquisitor attached a tracking device to the Ghost, it was Chopper who located it. The device was attached to the Phantom, so the rebels decided to use the smaller craft to throw off their pursuer.
-
Chopper was outraged when Zeb lost him in a sabacc match against Lando Calrissian. Lando promised to give the astromech back if the Ghost’s crew helped him move cargo past the Imperial blockade of Lothal. Watching Lando at work, Chopper had to admit the smooth-talking smuggler was as devious as Chopper himself.
-
During the crew’s firefight with Azmorigan’s thugs, Chopper turned the tide, manning the Ghost’s guns. He also moved some of Lando’s store of fuel onto the Ghost, getting even with the smuggler for at least some of his shady dealing.
-
When the rebels tried to rescue Senator-in-exile Gall Trayvis, Chopper once again let Sabine disguise him as an Imperial droid – and ruthlessly dispatched an Imperial astromech whose duties would have interfered with his part of the operation.
-
With Sabine’s help, Chopper sliced into the Empire’s communications tower on Lothal to broadcast a message encouraging the planet’s citizens to resist the Empire.
-
With the rebels desperate to find Kanan after the Jedi’s capture, Chopper posed as an Imperial courier droid, downloading information from the databanks of a light cruiser in orbit over Lothal.
-
Chopper fled the cruiser by opening an airlock, eliminating several stormtroopers in doing so, and rocketed over to the Ghost.
-
But when Zeb suggested keeping the courier droid they’d captured, the surly astromech made it clear that there was only room for one droid in the Ghost’s crew.
-
While the rebels tried to free Kanan from Grand Moff Tarkin’s Star Destroyer above Mustafar, Chopper contacted Fulcrum, the agent who’d helped Hera coordinate the team’s missions. The astromech then returned to Mustafar with a task force of rebel warships to rescue his friends.
